We know the trip from Staten Island takes planning — which is why our program fits the borough perfectly: the FDNY fire guard courses (F-01, F-02, F-03, F-04) are entirely online, $35 each, self-paced from home in Tottenville or St. George alike. The in-person NYS license classes run six days a week, so one well-planned trip per class gets it done — most students knock out the 8-Hour certificate in a single day.
Via ferry: Staten Island Ferry to Whitehall, then the 4/5 from Bowling Green to Crown Heights–Utica Av and the B46 bus up Utica to Fulton — or the R to Jay St–MetroTech and transfer to the A/C to Utica Avenue.
Driving: the Verrazzano to the Belt Parkway; street parking is available around Fulton & Utica.
Staten Island posts include Staten Island University Hospital and RUMC, the Staten Island Mall and Empire Outlets, ferry-terminal and municipal contracts, schools, and residential complexes across the North Shore. The NYS license is valid island-wide — and everywhere else in the state if you ever work off-island.

The Pre-Assignment course is 8 hours — one day, 8AM to 4PM. Take the ferry in the morning, leave with your certificate.
