Registration
- All students must register online to reserve their seat.
- Registration does not guarantee certification. Students must meet all course requirements and New York State licensing requirements.
- In-person class tuition is paid at the school on the day of class unless otherwise stated.
Attendance Policy
New York State requires students to complete the entire required training in order to receive a course certificate.
- Students must arrive on time.
- Students who arrive late or leave before the class is completed may not receive a certificate.
- There are no exceptions to the minimum instructional hours required by New York State.
- Students who miss any portion of the class may be required to attend another class to complete the required training.
New York State Security Guard Licensing Policy
Star Security Training is approved to provide the required training for New York State Security Guards. However, completion of a training course does not guarantee that a Security Guard Registration Card will be issued.
To become licensed, applicants must meet all New York State requirements, which include but are not limited to:
- Successfully completing the required security guard training.
- Submitting a Security Guard Registration application to the New York State Department of State.
- Completing fingerprinting through the State’s authorized fingerprinting vendor.
- Passing the required criminal history background check.
- Meeting all other eligibility requirements established by New York State law.
Star Security Training cannot approve, deny, or expedite a Security Guard Registration application.
Online Courses
- Online courses must be completed within 30 days of course activation.
- Students are responsible for completing all lessons, quizzes, and course requirements before access expires.
Refund Policy
- In-person security guard classes are paid at the school on the day of class.
- Online course purchases are non-refundable once access has been activated.
- All refund terms are governed by these Student Policies. Please contact Star Security Training with any questions before registering.
Code of Conduct
Students are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully.
Star Security Training reserves the right to remove any student whose behavior disrupts the class, threatens the safety of others, or violates school policies. Students removed from class for misconduct may not be eligible for a refund.
