1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Star Security Training website, online courses, student portal, and in-person training services (together, the "Services"), operated by Star Security Training, a division of Star Security Group Corporation, located at 1891 Fulton Street, Suite F, Brooklyn, NY 11233. By accessing our website, creating a student account, enrolling in a course, or attending a class, you agree to these Terms and to our Student Policies, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Our Services

Star Security Training provides New York State–approved security guard training, FDNY fire guard exam preparation, and related career resources, delivered in person at our Brooklyn training center and online through our student portal. Course offerings, schedules, and prices are described on this website and may change; the price and schedule in effect at the time of your enrollment apply to that enrollment.

3. No Guarantee of Licensure or Employment

Completion of any training course does not guarantee that you will receive a New York State Security Guard Registration Card, an FDNY Certificate of Fitness, or any license, certification, or employment.

Any job board listings, placement assistance, or recruiting relationships we offer are provided as a courtesy. We do not guarantee interviews, offers, or employment outcomes.

4. Enrollment, Payment, and Refunds

In-person class tuition is paid at the school on the day of class unless otherwise stated. Online course purchases are payable at checkout and are non-refundable once course access has been activated. All refund terms are governed by our Student Policies. Package courses must be completed within the period stated at purchase (for example, 30 days for course packages, and 30 days of activation for online courses).

5. Student Accounts

Some Services require a free student account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials confidential, and notify us of any unauthorized use of your account. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Certificates of completion are issued in the name on your account, so please ensure it matches your government-issued ID.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Services. This includes: sharing your account or course access with others; copying, recording, reselling, or redistributing course materials; attempting to interfere with, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the website, student portal, or other students' information; submitting false information to our forms, job board, or instructor applications; and using the Services for any unlawful purpose. Our in-person Code of Conduct applies to all classroom training.

7. Intellectual Property

All course materials, lessons, quizzes, practice questions, videos, text, graphics, and logos on the Services are the property of Star Security Group Corporation or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Your enrollment grants you a personal, non-transferable license to use the materials for your own training. It does not transfer any ownership or permit reuse, republication, or commercial use.

8. Third-Party Content and Links

The Services may display third-party content, including job listings supplied by outside job-data providers and links to external websites (such as government licensing agencies, fingerprinting vendors, and employers). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, their content, or their hiring decisions. Job listings are provided for information only, and applications made through external sites are between you and that employer.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we work to keep course content current with New York State and FDNY requirements, laws and agency procedures change, and we do not warrant that all information on the website is complete, current, or error-free. Nothing on this website is legal advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Star Security Training and Star Security Group Corporation will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services, including lost wages, lost employment opportunities, or licensing outcomes. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us for the course or service giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Changes to the Services or These Terms

We may update course offerings, schedules, prices, and these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date, and continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance. Material changes to an enrollment you have already paid for will not apply retroactively to that enrollment.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Kings County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
