✅ Step 1: Complete Your 8-Hour Annual In-Service Training Course

To renew your license, New York State requires you to take an 8-Hour Annual In-Service Training Course every year. This course refreshes your knowledge, updates you on legal changes, and keeps you sharp on the job.

📝 Step 2: Submit Your Renewal Application to the NYS Division of Licensing Services

Once you’ve completed your training, it’s time to renew your license with the New York State Division of Licensing Services.

You can renew:

  • By mail, using the renewal form they send you 90 days before your license expires
  • Request a renewl form if you haven’t received one here.

💡 Pro tip: Don’t wait until the last minute — renew at least 45 days before expiration to avoid a lapse.

📩 Step 3: Watch for Your Updated License

Once your renewal is processed, you’ll receive your new license in the mail. Keep a copy on you at all times while on duty.
